Chevrolet Silverado 1500/GMC Sierra 1500
ALL-NEW ’19 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 models are bigger, lighter, and more capable than ever. While the interior of each brand is still familiar, their exteriors are radically different, and a new engine joins the lineup: a 3.0L turbodiesel I-6. The powerplant is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, details are being tightly kept, and all we could get by the deadline for this guide is that the diesel option will hopefully make an appearance in 2019 model year trucks.
The ’19 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra’s proposed 3.0L I-6 turbodiesel is sure to compete directly with the offerings from Ford and Ram, giving buyers another take on the power-withefficiency mantra only diesel can provide. The styling may be a little controversial, but we’re betting people will warm up to it as they start to see more of them on the highway and at work sites.
