BASKET WEAVE

Do It Yourself - - What To Do With -

Use an open-weave basket as your loom, this photo. Our baskets are metal wires, but an open-weave basket of any type would work. For an eclectic look, gather a variety of textural materials, such as yarn braided or tied into macramé knots, leather, denim, velvet, ribbon, and wood beads threaded on yarn. Cut materials into strips and weave each in and out of the framework. Secure each strip at the top and bottom by folding it over the basket frame and, on the inside of the frame, glue each piece onto itself with hot glue or fabric glue. We love the look of our baskets as decorative houseplant containers!

PLACE AN INNER POT AND SAUCER INSIDE THE WOVEN BASKET TO HOLD THE DIRT AND HOUSEPLANT.
