— More than 800 pieces of art fill the exhibit halls at the Academy Art Museum in Easton as part of the annual MidShore Student Art Exhibition.

The exhibit showcases the talent and creativity of kindergarten through high school students from Caroline, Dorchester, Talbot, Queen Anne’s and Kent counties. The artwork will be available for visitors to view until Wednesday, April 4.

The showcase features a variety of media, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and printmaking. The Mid-Shore Student Art Exhibition has been an Academy Art Museum tradition for more than 25 years, and it is the largest student art exhibition on the Eastern Shore.

“This is our way of honoring the students in the community and all the talent that is in our region,” said Academy Art Museum ArtReach and Community Programs Director Constance Del Nero. “The school systems are great partners, and they do a great job of promoting art throughout a student’s educational career.

“This is a celebration of something wonderful,” she said. “The students are extremely talented. This is our biggest and favorite exhibit we do each year.”

The museum also picked the best art in a variety of categories.
