Dorchester County Public Schools Elementary registration April 18
CAMBRIDGE — Dorchester County Public Schools will hold a registration event on Wednesday, April 18, for parents to register their school-age children for Pre-K, Kindergarten, or first grade.
Registration will be available from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at each elementary school. Parents and guardians should visit the school where their children would attend, based on residency.
The following information is required to register: birth certificate, social security card, immunization records and lead testing results, proof of residence (lease, mortgage, electric or water bill, etc.), parental contact information (address, phone numbers, emergency contact), proof of custody if not natural parent.
Income verification will be required for Pre-K registration, which can be accomplished with any of the following: tax return from previous year, most recent paycheck stubs from the parent or guardian’s last two pay periods, TCA case nuber, or other income verification document approved by the the principal/designee.
On or before Sept. 1, 2018, a child must be 4 years old for Pre-K, 5 years old for Kindergarten, or 6 years old for first grade. Kindergarten attendance is compulsory, though exemptions can be obtained from Student Services.
