Bay­wa­ter in­vites po­ten­tial vol­un­teers to Spring Open House

CAM­BRIDGE — Bay­wa­ter An­i­mal Res­cue is host­ing a Spring Vol­un­teer Open House, an op­por­tu­nity to come out to the shel­ter to ex­pe­ri­ence a Day In The Life of a Bay­wa­ter An­i­mal Res­cue Vol­un­teer.

On Satur­day, April 28, ev­ery­one is wel­come to take a tour of the shel­ter, meet the staff and cur­rent vol­un­teers, and best of all, spend time with the dogs and cats cur­rently un­der Bay­wa­ter’s care.

Vol­un­teer op­por­tu­ni­ties

in­clude cat cud­dling and play­ing, dog walk­ing and play­ing, front desk/ad­min­is­tra­tive du­ties, main­te­nance, trans­port, mar­ket­ing/so­cial me­dia, event par­tic­i­pa­tion and fundrais­ing.

In­for­ma­tion will be pro­vided about how to vol­un­teer for Bay­wa­ter An­i­mal Res­cue’s fos­ter home pro­gram. Fos­ter homes pro­vide re­lief from the stress of shel­ter life and in­crease the num­ber of an­i­mals that can be res­cued. Meet with cur­rent fos­ter fam­i­lies and learn about the joy of help­ing an an­i­mal in need.

“Our vol­un­teers are the best,” said Jayme Schatz, Op­er­a­tions Man­ager at Bay­wa­ter. “Their ded­i­ca­tion to cre­at­ing more happy end­ings for the an­i­mals is hum­bling. We couldn’t save as many an­i­mals as we do with­out our vol­un­teers. Go #TeamBay­wa­ter!”
