Want to know a chal­leng­ing ex­er­cise for your mind and your body; and that is good for you so­cially and is fun. This is mod­ern day Square Danc­ing that takes place with a group called the Dorch­ester Swingers of Cam­bridge. They meet ev­ery Tues­day even­ing with a work­shop from 6 to 7:30 p.m. They also have dances on the first Fri­day of the month while the pub­lic schools are in ses­sion. Both are held in the Mul­ti­Pur­pose room of Maple El­e­men­tary School ad­ja­cent to Cam­bridge-South Dorch­ester High School off of state Route 16 and Egypt Road. Park­ing is lo­cated near the door to this room. Work­shops are $2 for mem­bers and free for ob­servers. Dances are free for mem­bers and ob­servers; and guest dancers pay $7. The time of the dance is 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. Re­fresh­ments are free. St. An­drews Epis­co­pal Blue­grass Con­cert First Mon­days

On the first Mon­day of ev­ery month at St. An­drews Epis­co­pal Church, 303 Main St. in Hur­lock from 7 to 10 p.m. there is a blue­grass jam. All blue­grass mu­si­cians and fans are in­vited. Dona­tions are ac­cepted for the ben­e­fit of the Church’s food bank.

Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 91 Fundraiser May 26

Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 91 is hav­ing a build­ing re­vi­tal­iza­tion fundraiser dance in Gov­er­nor’s Hall at Sail­winds in Cam­bridge from 8 p.m. to mid­night Satur­day, May 26, fea­tur­ing lo­cal band SUDDS. This is open to the pub­lic and is $5 a per­son.

Vaughn Chapel Me­mo­rial Day Ser vice May 27

The Old­field Church Creek Com­mu­nity Im­prove­ment As­so­ci­a­tion will be hav­ing its an­nual Me­mo­rial Day Ser­vice on Sun­day, May 27, at Vaughn Chapel lo­cated on Old Field Road in Church Creek. The ser­vice is at 4 p.m. The guest preacher is The Rev. Eartha Har­ris from Sal­is­bury. The pub­lic is in­vited. Vaughn Chapel has been serv­ing the Church Creek com­mu­nity since 1894. Wil­liam Jar­mon is the pres­i­dent.

Wes­ley United Methodist Church in Vi­enna Md is Hav­ing Our An­nual Men’s Day Ser­vice at 3:30 p.m. Sun­day May 27. The guest Pas­tor is Rev. James Young of Union United Methodist Church of Del­mar with his Choir and Con­gre­ga­tion. The Host Pas­tor is Rev Jerome Til­gh­man Sr.

Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 91 Me­mo­rial Day Ser­vice May 28

The Cam­bridge Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 91 will host a Me­mo­rial Day ser­vice at 11 a.m. Mon­day, May 28, at Long Wharf Park in Cam­bridge. In the event of in­clement weather, the ser­vice will be held at Sail­winds Park.

Cam­bridge Woman’s Club Pit Beef Sale May 31

The Cam­bridge Woman’s Club will hold a Pit Beef Sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thurs­day, May 31, at the cor­ner of Mary­land Av­enue and Route 50. Sand­wich, soda and chips are $8. This fundraiser sup­port the club’s mis­sion to pro­mote lit­er­acy and ed­u­ca­tion in Cam­bridge and the sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties in Dorch­ester County, as well as to pre­serve Sycamore Cot­tage, one of the old­est build­ings lo­cated within the county.
