Dorch­ester Swingers Square Danc­ing

The Dorch­ester Swingers’ Square Danc­ing Club will have its first Fri­day of the Month dance in the Multi-Pur­pose room of Maple El­e­men­tary School off of state Route 16 and Egypt Road in Cam­bridge. The school is ad­ja­cent to Cam­bridge South Dorch­ester High School. Park­ing is avail­able in front of the door of the multi-pur­pose room off of Egypt Road. The dance is free for mem­bers and guests that aren’t dancers. Other dancers pay $7. The time of the dance is 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free snacks will be avail­able. Work­shops are held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. ev­ery Tues­day night that school is in ses­sion. MSP Toy Drive Thur Dec. 17

The 2018 Mary­land State Po­lice “Bears That Care Mid-Shore” toy drive is un­der­way. Ap­pli­ca­tion days will be 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 30 and 4 to 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the Pre­ston Fire­house, 3680 Chop­tank Road, Pre­ston. Bring a photo ID and your child’s birth cer­tifi­cate and proof of guardian­ship. The dead­line for do­na­tions is Dec. 17. State troop­ers are col­lect­ing toys (new and un­wrapped), jack­ets and gloves for lo­cal chil­dren whose fam­i­lies are in need this Christ­mas. Do­na­tions also will be ac­cepted 24 hours a day at the Eas­ton Bar­racks, 7053 Ocean Gate­way, af­ter Nov. 16. In the 2017 hol­i­day sea­son, the toy drive helped more than 200 fam­i­lies and 600 chil­dren. Toys also were to the pe­di­atric ward of the Univer­sity of Mary­land Shore Med­i­cal Cen­ter at Eas­ton, Penin­sula Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter in Sal­is­bury, lo­cal churches and lo­cal shel­ters. Friend­ship UM Church Fall Bazaar

Friend­ship United Methodist Church on Airey’s Road in Cam­bridge will host a fall bazaar from 9 a.m. to noon Satur­day, Nov. 3. There will be a bake ta­ble and white ele­phant ta­ble, along with a silent auc­tion. Food will in­clude chicken salad, oys­ter sand­wiches, hot dogs and more.

Lakes and Straits VFC Tricky Tray

The Lakes and Straits VFC will host a tricky tray fundraiser Sun­day, Nov. 4, at the Cam­bridge Moose Lodge. Doors open at noon and the draw­ings start at 2 p.m. Tick­ets are $5 for a sheet of 25 tick­ets. A per­son must be present for the draw­ing. There will be a bake ta­ble. Avail­able on the tricky tray are seven trips (air fare no in­cluded) — seven nights in Panama, seven to 10 nights in Palm Is­land (The Gre­nadines), seven to nine nights at St. James Club Beach Club (An­tigua), seven to 10 nights in St. Lu­cia, seven to nine nights at Pineap­ple Beach Club (An­tigua), seven to 10 nights at Bar­ba­dos Re­sort and Spa, seven to nine nights at The Ve­ran­dah Re­sort and Spa (An­tigua).
