Cambridge Woman’s Club hosting bingo fundraiser
CAMBRIDGE — The Cambridge Woman’s Club together with the Norwich Elks will hold a cash-prize bingo at the lodge on Elks’ Lodge Road from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.
Doors will open at 1 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. They are available by calling Kathe Scanlon at 410-221-0120 or from any member beginning Dec. 7. A Tricky Tray raffle of fresh, home-made baked items and a 50-50 raffle will add to the festivities. Water and iced tea will be included and hot dogs, chips, and drinks from the bar will be available for purchase.
The Cambridge Woman’s Club raises money to fund support for literacy in Dorchester County by donations to the Dorchester County Library and participating in reading teams at Choptank Elementary School. Also requiring substantial income is maintenance of its historic clubhouse, Sycamore Cottage at 417 High Street. Recently a new roof was installed, and current fund-raising is aimed at replacement of its aged HVAC system.
