Cam­bridge Woman’s Club host­ing bingo fundraiser

CAM­BRIDGE — The Cam­bridge Woman’s Club to­gether with the Nor­wich Elks will hold a cash-prize bingo at the lodge on Elks’ Lodge Road from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun­day, Dec. 16.

Doors will open at 1 p.m. Tick­ets are $25 in ad­vance and $30 at the door. They are avail­able by call­ing Kathe Scan­lon at 410-221-0120 or from any mem­ber be­gin­ning Dec. 7. A Tricky Tray raf­fle of fresh, home-made baked items and a 50-50 raf­fle will add to the fes­tiv­i­ties. Water and iced tea will be in­cluded and hot dogs, chips, and drinks from the bar will be avail­able for pur­chase.

The Cam­bridge Woman’s Club raises money to fund sup­port for lit­er­acy in Dorch­ester County by dona­tions to the Dorch­ester County Li­brary and par­tic­i­pat­ing in read­ing teams at Chop­tank El­e­men­tary School. Also re­quir­ing sub­stan­tial in­come is main­te­nance of its his­toric club­house, Sy­camore Cot­tage at 417 High Street. Re­cently a new roof was in­stalled, and cur­rent fund-rais­ing is aimed at re­place­ment of its aged HVAC sys­tem.
