Rescue Fire Company Train Garden
Dec. 1-31 Cambridge Rescue Fire Company’s 84th annual Christmas Train Garden runs from Saturday, Dec. 1, to Tuesday, Dec. 31, for the holiday season at 311 Gay Street. The train garden has been completely designed. It is open from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The train garden is free and donations are welcomed. Dorchester Swingers Square Dancing
The Dorchester Swingers’ Square Dancing Club will have its first Friday of the Month dance in the MultiPurpose room of Maple Elementary School off of state Route 16 and Egypt Road in Cambridge. The school is adjacent to CambridgeSouth Dorchester High School. Parking is available in front of the door of the multi-purpose room off of Egypt Road. The dance is free for members and guests that aren’t dancers. Other dancers pay $7. The time of the dance is 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free snacks will be available. Workshops are held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Tuesday night that school is in session. Legion Veterans Helping Veterans

St. Andrews Episcopal Bluegrass Concert
On the first Monday of every month at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 303 Main St. in Hurlock from 7 to 10 p.m. there is a bluegrass jam. All bluegrass musicians and fans are invited. Donations are accepted for the benefit of the Church’s food bank.
St. Johns Chapel Candlelight Service
Saint Johns Chapel is a historic white clapboard church built in 1853 of local woods with handhewn pegs and hand forged nails. We are located minutes from Cambridge at 1213 Hudson Road/Rte. 343. All are invited to join the church’s Christmas Eve for the annual candlelight ser vice at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24, when the church uses the Chapel’s original wall candle sconces and kerosene lamp fixtures to illuminate the chapel.
Zion UM Church Christmas Eve Mass Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Locust Street, Cambridge, will host their annual Christmas Eve service at 11 p.m. Monday, Dec. 24. Everyone is welcome to join in for Lessons, Carols, Candle Lighting and Holy Communion.
Youth Action Committee Soup Day Dec. 27
The Youth Action Committee hosts its annual soup day at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27. The committee is providing free soup at the Dri-Dock Recovery and Wellness Center on U.S. Route 50 in Cambridge. The Youth Action Committee is a group of middle school and high school students working together to prevent underage substance abuse. American Legion 91 New Year’s Eve Dance
Dec. 31 American Legion Dorchester Auxiliary Unit 91 is hosting a New Year’s Eve Dance at its Radiance Drive location, featuring the band Barren Creek, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31. Immanuel Church Waterfowl Hunt
Jan. 5 Immanuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cambridge, will hold a Family Waterfowl Hunt Saturday, Jan. 5. Registration begins at 5:15 a.m. Cost includes guided tour on some of the Eastern Shores wonderful hunting properties. It is $80 for the continental breakfast, hunt and lunch. It is $50 for youth 15 and under (must be accompanied by an adult). Lunch only by donation. Hunt availability is on a first-come, first paid basis.
