Res­cue Fire Com­pany Train Gar­den

Dec. 1-31 Cam­bridge Res­cue Fire Com­pany’s 84th an­nual Christ­mas Train Gar­den runs from Satur­day, Dec. 1, to Tues­day, Dec. 31, for the hol­i­day sea­son at 311 Gay Street. The train gar­den has been com­pletely de­signed. It is open from 6 to 9 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day and 1 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Satur­days and Sun­days. The Dorch­ester Swingers’ Square Danc­ing Club will have its first Fri­day of the Month dance in the Mul­ti­Pur­pose room of Maple Ele­men­tary School off of state Route 16 and Egypt Road in Cam­bridge. The school is ad­ja­cent to Cam­bridgeSouth Dorch­ester High School. Park­ing is avail­able in front of the door of the multi-pur­pose room off of Egypt Road. The dance is free for mem­bers and guests that aren’t dancers. Other dancers pay $7. The time of the dance is 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Free snacks will be avail­able. Work­shops are held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. ev­ery Tues­day night that school is in session. St. An­drews Epis­co­pal Blue­grass Con­cert

First Mon­days

On the first Mon­day of ev­ery month at St. An­drews Epis­co­pal Church, 303 Main St. in Hurlock from 7 to 10 p.m. there is a blue­grass jam. All blue­grass mu­si­cians and fans are in­vited. Do­na­tions are ac­cepted for the ben­e­fit of the Church’s food bank.

St. Johns Chapel Can­dle­light Ser­vice

Christ­mas Eve

Saint Johns Chapel is a his­toric white clap­board church built in 1853 of lo­cal woods with hand­hewn pegs and hand forged nails. We are lo­cated min­utes from Cam­bridge at 1213 Hud­son Road/Rte. 343. All are in­vited to join the church’s Christ­mas Eve for the an­nual can­dle­light ser vice at 6 p.m. Mon­day, Dec. 24, when the church uses the Chapel’s orig­i­nal wall can­dle sconces and kerosene lamp fix­tures to il­lu­mi­nate the chapel.

Zion UM Church Christ­mas Eve Mass Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Lo­cust Street, Cam­bridge, will host their an­nual Christ­mas Eve ser­vice at 11 p.m. Mon­day, Dec. 24. Ev­ery­one is wel­come to join in for Lessons, Car­ols, Can­dle Light­ing and Holy Com­mu­nion.

Youth Ac­tion Com­mit­tee Soup Day Dec. 27

The Youth Ac­tion Com­mit­tee hosts its an­nual soup day at 11 a.m. Thurs­day, Dec. 27. The com­mit­tee is pro­vid­ing free soup at the Dri-Dock Re­cov­ery and Well­ness Cen­ter on U.S. Route 50 in Cam­bridge. The Youth Ac­tion Com­mit­tee is a group of mid­dle school and high school stu­dents work­ing to­gether to pre­vent un­der­age sub­stance abuse. Amer­i­can Le­gion 91 New Year’s Eve Dance

Dec. 31 Amer­i­can Le­gion Dorch­ester Aux­il­iary Unit 91 is host­ing a New Year’s Eve Dance at its Ra­di­ance Drive lo­ca­tion, fea­tur­ing the band Bar­ren Creek, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Mon­day, Dec. 31. Cost is $30 per per­son in ad­vance and in­cludes snacks, door prizes and cham­pagne to ring in the New Year. The pub­lic is wel­come. Jan. 5 Im­manuel United Church of Christ, 5401 White Hall Road, Cam­bridge, will hold a Fam­ily Water­fowl Hunt Satur­day, Jan. 5. Regis­tra­tion begins at 5:15 a.m. Cost in­cludes guided tour on some of the Eastern Shores won­der­ful hunt­ing prop­er­ties. It is $80 for the con­ti­nen­tal break­fast, hunt and lunch. It is $50 for youth 15 and un­der (must be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult). Lunch only by do­na­tion. Hunt avail­abil­ity is on a first-come, first paid ba­sis.
