American Legion 91 Dance Jan. 11
The dance at the American Legion Post 91 on Radiance Drive in Cambridge will be from 8 to 11 p.m., Friday, Jan. 11, and will feature Double Nickels. The dance is open to the public and a $5 cover charge.
The Cambridge Association of Neighborhoods will have a meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the radio station, WHCP at 516 Race Street.
Church Creek VFC Auxiliary Bingo
The Church Creek VFC Auxiliary will host bingo Saturday, Jan. 12. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games begin at 6 p.m. Enjoy an evening of family entertainment and good food
Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance Annual Meeting
The Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance invites the community to attend its 12th annual meeting, featuring Major General James A. Adkins, US Army Retired, with a special presentation on “The Revolutionary War in Maryland and the Eastern Shore.” The meeting will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the Robbins Center, Dorchester County Historical Society 1003 Greenway Drive in Cambridge. There will be soups and appetizers at 4:30 p.m. Then there will be a presentation on Handsell, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in Vienna.

MLK prayer breakfast
Hurlock United Methodist Church will host its 8th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Prayer Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21. The theme for this year’s event of remembrance is “I’m interested in Power ... that is Moral ... that is Right ... and that is Good.” The Rev. Cornelius Berry, pastor of New Beginnings UMC in Ridgely, will be the keynote speaker. The Rev. Ashley Jones, pastor of Faith Community UMC in East New Market, and Mount Pleasant UMC in Salem, will be the guest vocalist. Robert Batson of Mt. Hope UMC in Finchville will render the ministry of music. Praise dance will be performed by Taniya Waters, a student at North Dorchester Middle School. Prayers will be offered by local clergy.
