Dorch­ester Board of Ed­u­ca­tion firms up school lead­er­ship for com­ing year

CAM­BRIDGE — The Dorch­ester County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion made mul­ti­ple ad­min­is­tra­tive ap­point­ments and trans­fers dur­ing their tele­con­fer­enced meet­ing on Thurs­day, June 2.

Four new ap­point­ments were made, in­clud­ing Lar- etha Pay­ton, who was made prin­ci­pal of Chop­tank El- emen­tary School and David Stofa, who was ap­pointed prin­ci­pal of North Dorch­ester High School.

Dawn Corkran was ap­point- ed as an as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal for Hur­lock Ele­men­tary, and Tiana Pow­ell-Robin­son was made an as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal at Sandy Hill Ele­men­tary School.

Pay­ton and Stofa take their new po­si­tions on July 1, and Corkran and Pow­ell-Robin- son be­gin on Aug. 3.

Two prin­ci­pals were trans- ferred ef­fec­tive July 1. New Di­rec­tions Prin­ci­pal Vaughn Evans will be the prin­ci­pal at Maces Lane Mid­dle School, and CES Prin­ci­pal Emma Pin­kett will be the Judy Cen- ter Co­or­di­na­tor.

On Aug. 3, two as­sis­tant prin­ci­pal trans­fers will trade places. Maces Lane Mid­dle School As­sis­tant Prin­ci­pal

Stephanie Bro­hawn will move to North Dorch­ester Mid­dle School, and NDMS As­sis­tant Prin­ci­pal Cynitha Wool­ford with move to MLMS.

Two new as­sis­tant prin­ci­pals ap­pointed at the May 21 Board of Ed­u­ca­tion meet­ing re­ceived their school place­ments. On Aug. 3, Wil­liam Thomp­son will start at Maple Ele­men­tary, and Stephen Ro­mano will be­gin at Cam­bridge-South Dorch­ester High School.
