Dorchester Board of Education firms up school leadership for coming year
CAMBRIDGE — The Dorchester County Board of Education made multiple administrative appointments and transfers during their teleconferenced meeting on Thursday, June 2.
Four new appointments were made, including Lar- etha Payton, who was made principal of Choptank El- ementary School and David Stofa, who was appointed principal of North Dorchester High School.
Dawn Corkran was appoint- ed as an assistant principal for Hurlock Elementary, and Tiana Powell-Robinson was made an assistant principal at Sandy Hill Elementary School.
Payton and Stofa take their new positions on July 1, and Corkran and Powell-Robin- son begin on Aug. 3.
Two principals were trans- ferred effective July 1. New Directions Principal Vaughn Evans will be the principal at Maces Lane Middle School, and CES Principal Emma Pinkett will be the Judy Cen- ter Coordinator.
On Aug. 3, two assistant principal transfers will trade places. Maces Lane Middle School Assistant Principal
Stephanie Brohawn will move to North Dorchester Middle School, and NDMS Assistant Principal Cynitha Woolford with move to MLMS.
Two new assistant principals appointed at the May 21 Board of Education meeting received their school placements. On Aug. 3, William Thompson will start at Maple Elementary, and Stephen Romano will begin at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School.
