NOSTALGIA RACING WITH AN ENGLISH TWIST
WITH England’s Santa Pod Raceway celebrating its golden anniversary recently, extra effort was made by Promoter Keith Bartlett and Event Director James Forster to ensure the running of Dragstalgia would be something special for fans desirous of a blast from the past.
Having more than 300 competitors entering the sixth annual affair, it was well supported, not only by the Brits, but also entrants from across the English Channel. The three-day show drew the largest crowd since the event’s conception. Fans loved seeing the Allard Chrysler, which made its first pass at the Pod since being retired in 1964. It was fully rebuilt at the National Motor Museum by a group of enthusiasts. We were particularly pleased to see the Chinn/Messenger Pegasus twinNorton back after an absence of more than 30 years.
