SOME LIKE IT HOT (NOT!)

/ THE U.S. NATIONALS TESTED THE LIMITS OF ALL INVOLVED.

THE COMPETITION WAS NOT THE ONLY CHALLENGE FACING U.S. Nationals participants. The heat and humidity that pushed the adjusted altitude a soaring 4,000 feet higher than Indy’s actual place on the planet sucked the life out of both humans and machines.

Being able to hoist a Wally high into the air on Labor Day was a testament to human endurance, tuning skills and mechanical superiority.

Terry McMillen has turned from cannon fodder to a T/F contender. He scored a closely contested event victory over Doug Kalitta (4.03/300.66 to Doug’s 4.06/303.57). This win also secured him a place in the playoffs.
