Sharelle Payne, the author of, “Precious Thoughts” loves sharing her uniquely honest style of writing with all who read her work. Nicknamed “Precious’” by her father she was inspired at age twelve by the lyrics from the classic Smokey Robinson and the Miracles hit “Tracks of My Tears”. That song helped ignite her imagination and helped lead her creatively to where she is today. One of her greatest inspirations is her mom who, while raising an extended family (Sharelle, her 4 siblings, and 4 nieces and nephews) worked as a nurse and earned two masters degrees. Seeing her mother accomplish this made Sharelle profoundly aware that “only excuses set limits”. After marrying young and divorcing early, Sharelle set out on a quest for spiritual growth. (she refers to herself as a “growing” woman not a “grown” woman). At age 30 she decided she would begin to conquer all her goals. One of which was making her dream of becoming a published author a reality. Needing to provide for her three children, she worked full- time and studied full-time to become a medical professional. She continued to write her reflections on life: its beauty, its mistakes, its forgiveness, its lies, and its truths. She captures those reflections in “Precious Thoughts” which takes the reader on a journey of life, love and passion.
