Begin a New Chapter This Fall
F all is the perfect time to write an empowering and more magnificent chapter in your life. Beginning a new chapter means interjecting some essential components into your former day to day so that you can have a more polished narrative as you move forward academically, career wise and personally. Here are some tips to get you started. Aim for a less chaotic morning. If during past school years your mornings started out rushed and unorganized, make a pact with yourself to change that pattern. Get your clothes ready the night before, pack those must-have items, make sure your cell phone and iPad are charged. Set your alarm to go off a few minutes earlier. Have breakfast and think about something positive before stepping out your door. Anticipate having a great day and it will be. Set goals and strategize. Write down a list of goals you’d like to accomplish in the next six months. Write down what steps you’ll need to take to reach them no matter how small or how daunting they are. Track your progress on a flowchart or on a wall calendar. By doing this on a regular basis you will develop skills that help you approach challenges, tasks and even test-taking in a rational and more self-assured way.
