Pellets, Crumbles or Mash?

-

commercial poultry feeds come in three forms: extruded pellets of various sizes; crumbles, which look like tiny rock chips; and fine mashes. in general, ducks waste less pellet feed than they do crumble or mash. Mash in particular can adhere to wet bills and end up wasted in the water container as the duck dabbles and rinses. ducks tend to eat more and grow faster when offered a pellet diet (most pellet fare is too big for new ducklings, but you can moisten it with water first). if mash is all that’s available, try mixing it with water to make it mushy but not too sloppy before serving it to your flock.
