Patrick Dan Krummen

-

It is with deep sadness that we say good-bye to a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, brother and man of true character. Pat passed away peacefully at John Muir Medical Center, Concord, surrounded in the love of his family.

Pat was born in Richmond, CA, to the late Arthur and Julia Krummen. The family moved to Martinez, where he attended Martinez schools, graduating from Alhambra High School, class of ’71.

From his first marriage he became a proud father to his children, Jason and Lisa. In 1991 Pat met Marianne, and their life together began.

He had a long and successful career at Mt. Diablo Unified School District, retiring as the Landscape Supervisor in 2008. Many school sites today reflect his landscape designs. After retirement, he worked part time at MacAlvey’s Nursery & Landscape Material, Martinez. Always a hard worker, Pat led by example.

Pat was an avid fisherman and hunter taking up golf after retirement, enjoying the game and the challenge. The camaraderie on the weekly golf course with his friends, followed by a rousing game of cards and dice always made it a good day. He enjoyed karaoke and is now giving Johnny Cash a run for his money.

Pat was a man with a kind and generous heart. He had a knack for finding humor in life, making others laugh with his quick wit. There wasn’t anyone who met Pat who didn’t instantly become a friend. Nothing meant more to him than being with his family, never missing family events. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marianne & his devoted children & stepson, Jason (Jaimi) Krummen, Lisa (Victor) Bettiga & Matt Fielder. He relished his role as Grandpa to his grandchildren, Jason, Kevin, Allison and Vanessa. Left with decades of fond and colorful memories are his siblings John, Mike, twin sister Pam, Bob and Janie, and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by brothers Jim and Rick.

Due to Covid-19 a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. His family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of your choice in memory of Pat.
