Oakland woman killed in traffic crash
Her car plunged off State Route 160 on Sunday morning
ANTIOCH >> A 25-yearold Oakland woman was killed early Sunday morning when her vehicle plunged off State Route 160 causing her to be ejected, the California Highway Patrol said.
She was identified Monday by the coroner’s office as Amaris Castillo.
The fatality happened at about 2:45 a.m. Sunday
The CHP said she was driving alone in a black
Hyundai Elantra northbound on State route 160 when as it neared Main Street the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided into the center concrete divider guardrail before plunging down onto Main Street. She died at the scene.
The CHP said the death remains under investigation but did note that alcohol or drugs may have been a factor in the crash.
