Three men shot, two in critical condition

Three men were wounded in two shootings Saturday night that happened just over an hour apart in different areas of the city, authoritie­s said.

Two of the men were reported to be in critical condition, and the other was in stable condition.

Two of the men, one 20 and the other 21, were shot about 8:23 p.m. Saturday outside in the 1000 block of Kirkham Way in West Oakland, not far from the West Oakland BART Station. Multiple shell casings were found on the street.

Police have not said if the men knew each other or if they lived in the area.

The men got a ride to a hospital from other people. The 21-year-old man was in critical condition and the other man was in stable condition.

Police have not released a motive yet in the shooting and have not announced any arrests.

About 9:41 p.m. Saturday a 32-year-old man was shot multiple times outside in the 600 block of Hegenberge­r Road in East Oakland.

Authoritie­s said the man had just parked his vehicle and was exiting it when someone began shooting at him.

He was hit several times and was taken to a hospital where he was in critical condition. His vehicle was also hit by the gunfire, authoritie­s said.

A motive has not been released yet in the shooting and no arrests have been announced by police.
