Three wounded in unrelated East Oakland shootings
OAKLAND » Three men were wounded in shootings that happened in different areas of East Oakland between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning, authorities said.
One of the men was in critical condition and the other two were in stable condition, authorities said. The shootings are not related, authorities said.
The man in critical condition, who is 30, was shot about 12:49 a.m. Thursday in the 8400 block of Olive Street,
Officers responded to the scene based on a
ShotSpotter alert, but the man already had gotten his own transportation to a hospital.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation, and no arrests have been announced.
About 8:47 p.m. Wednesday a 30-year-old man was shot multiple times in the 8900 block of Bancroft Avenue,
apparently after a confrontation with another man who fled before police arrived. The wounded man was taken to a hospital from the scene.
A motive for the shooting has not yet been released.
And just before 5 p.m. Wednesday, a 25-year-old man showed up at at Highland
Hospital with a gunshot wound to his lower body.
He told police he had been walking in the area of East 28th Street and Tenth Avenue, less than a mile from the hospital, when he heard gunshots and saw he had been wounded. He got his own transportation to the hospital.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation.
