A woman was in county jail after a search warrant at an Antioch home led to her arrest Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting in March, authorities said.

Shortly after 9 p.m. March 22, police responded to a home after a possible gunshot report in the 100 block of Bruno Avenue. About 40 minutes after officers arrived, they heard gunshots about half a mile away in the 1000 block of Power Avenue and learned of a dispatcher's call about a clerk shot at a store.

Other officers responded to the store, and found a clerk suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite officers' lifesaving efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified him as Abdul Raouf, 44. His death was the city's first homicide of the year.

Police learned that two Pittsburg residents, a 37-year-old man and 34-year-old woman, had been involved in a fracas on Bruno shortly before someone fired a handgun several times into the air. There were no reported injuries in that shooting, and the two fled. Investigators later developed information that the two also fled after their involvement in a confrontation with store employees that led up to the fatal shooting.

In a statement late Wednesday,

Pittsburg police said officers with its special response unit served a search warrant after 2 p.m. at a home in the 2000 block of D Street, and took the 34-year-old woman into custody. She was booked into West County jail early Thursday on the warrant and held in lieu of $1 million bail, according to a county records check.

The 37-year-old man was not found at the home and is still sought by investigators in connection with the shooting. Anyone with information on him may call Pittsburg police Detective Jonathan Elmore at 925-2524875 or the department tip line at 925-252-4040.

A third man involved in the confrontation, a 43-year-old Pittsburg man detained last week at a Pittsburg home, was not listed in custody Thursday afternoon.
