Celebrating Excellence in Silicon Valley’s Wine Region: Livermore Valley’s Taste Our Terroir 2023
In the heart of Silicon Valley’s wine region, the Livermore Valley Wine Community, renowned for its award-winning wines, hosted its annual Taste Our Terroir event on October 19, 2023. This prestigious event, a jewel in the crown of the Livermore Valley Wine Community, embodies the region’s dedication to quality, innovation, and the art of perfect pairings. It’s a grand celebration where top wineries and acclaimed local restaurants unite to showcase Livermore Valley’s vibrant and evolving renaissance as a premier historic wine destination.
The 2023 Taste Our Terroir event marked the beginning of the TASTE: Livermore Valley Wine Experience Weekend, a fourday extravaganza featuring 15 exclusive events that drew over a thousand wine enthusiasts and epicureans. The kickoff event, Taste Our Terroir, welcomed 400 attendees, and the community enthusiastically supported and voted for their favorite pairings while mingling with winemakers. This year’s competition witnessed a thoughtful collaboration between twelve distinguished Livermore Valley wineries and top-tier local restaurants and caterers, each pairing striving to craft the ultimate food and wine experience. Set amidst the picturesque vineyards of Livermore Valley, the event not only embodied the region’s spirit of innovation but also its deep-seated commitment to nurturing a diverse wine culture.
The esteemed panel of judges for the 2023 Taste Our Terroir included Stacy Briscoe of Wine Enthusiast magazine, Chef Kimberly Gamble, renowned for her expertise in Thai cuisine, and Dr. Liz Thach, MW, a distinguished wine writer and the first Californian woman to obtain the title of Master of Wine. Their expertise guided the discerning selection of the winners, each honored for their exceptional pairing that encapsulated the essence of Livermore Valley’s terroir.
