Delgado, Cunanan lead Milpitas past Los Altos

Sophia Delgado went 4 for 4 with two doubles, knocked in a run and scored three runs and Kaelyn Cunanan added three hits to lift the visiting Milpitas High softball team past Los Altos 6-2 in Santa Clara Valley Athletic League De Anza Division play Monday.

Lily Whiting had two hits and two RBIs for Los Altos (710, 1-6), which plays at Homestead today.

Milpitas (11-8, 4-2) had won five of its last seven games before it hosted Silver Creek on Tuesday. The Trojans will play at Wilcox on Friday.

SAN RAMON VALLEY 16, WASHINGTON-FREMONT 0 >> Brianna Schapiro, Sophia Jin and Gianna Baccei each knocked in three runs to lead San Ramon Valley to a five-inning win over visiting Washington (5-10) in non-league play.

Freshman Lila Mcleod and sophomore Isla Higgins combined on the one-hit shutout for SRV (10-8).

BEREAN CHRISTIAN 11, LAS LOMAS 7 >> Jacqueline Sanchez, Madison Seuis, Alissa Jones, Le Ana Cimarra, Emmalyn Decarlo and Sierra Talbot each had two hits as Berean Christian turned back Las Lomas in a Diablo Athletic League Valley Division game. Berean Christian is 8-4, 4-3. Las Lomas is 6-8, 2-3.

BURLINGAME 10, SEQUOIA 2 >>

Burlingame scored seven in the top half of the sixth to turn its Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division game against Sequoia into a rout.

Kasey Lyons had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs and Lily Grenier doubled and had an RBI to lead the Panthers (9-7, 4-4). Sequoia is 1-12, 0-8.

OVERFELT 34, JAMES LICK 7 >>

Sophomores Daijaah Jones and Mya Eti powered Overfelt to five-inning, mercy-rule victory at home over James Lick in Blossom Valley Athletic League West Valley Division play.

The Royals finished with 35 hits as Jones went 6 for 6, drove in eight runs, scored five runs, homered, doubled and twice tripled. Eti finished 4 for 4, had two homers, knocked in seven runs and scored six runs.

Overfelt (12-5, 10-2) scored 13 in the first to erase an early two-run deficit and 11 in the second. Lick fell to 6-7, 4-5.

Baseball

LINCOLN-SAN JOSE 18, MT. PLEASANT 0 >> Diego Casorla had three hits with four RBIs and Ryan Rogers finished with two hits and two RBIs as Lincoln (15-3) crushed Mt. Pleasant (8-7) in nonleague play.

TERRA NOVA 10, SEQUOIA 9 >> Terra Nova scored six runs in the top of the seventh to overcome a three-run deficit and beat Sequoia (10-10) in a nonleague game.

Joseph Donati led Terra Nova (6-10-1) with two hits, including a triple, and knocked in four runs and Vincent Smith added a double and two RBIs to lead the way. Tyler Steele drove in two runs for Sequoia.

MONTE VISTA 13, BERKELEY 8 >> Luke Claussen had three hits, knocked in four runs and scored twice and Brad Ballard homered to lead Monte Vista (11-7) past host Berkeley in a non-league game. Akanni Owodunni had two hits, including a homer, and drove in four for Berkeley (10-7).

CALIFORNIA 9, ANTIOCH 4 >> Tied 4-4, California scored two in the top of the sixth and three in the seventh to beat Antioch in nonleague play.

Logan Kellogg tripled and drove in two runs, Ben Johnson had four hits and Angelo Sherman added three hits, including a triple, to lead the Grizzlies (10-10). Angelo Nunes had four hits and an RBI for Antioch (6-15).

MT EDEN 6, MISSION SAN JOSE 5 >> Trailing 5-3 after three innings, host Mt. Eden rallied to keep Mission San Jose winless on the season. Hector Dueñas and Javier Alfaro III each drove in two runs for Mt. Eden (6-11). MSJ dropped to 0-17.
