-

Ceddanne Rafaela homered and drove in seven runs, and Tyler O'Neill also went deep as the Boston Red Sox routed the Chicago Cubs 17-0 on Saturday at Fenway Park.

The 23-year-old Rafaela, playing shortstop and batting ninth, went 4 for 4, Masataka Yoshida went 4 for 5 and Bobby Dalbec, who entered the game batting .093, had two hits, three RBIs — including a run-scoring hit in a six-run fifth inning — and scored twice.

O'Neill jumped on a 3-0 pitch and sent it over the Green Monster for his ninth homer and a 2-0 lead in the first inning. A sacrifice fly by Rafaela made it 3-0 in the fourth.

Rafaela hit a bases-loaded double that made it 8-0. Wilyer Abreu became the first Red Sox rookie to record RBIs in eight consecutive games when he singled home O'Neill.

The Cubs had just four hits and needed two position players — Matt Mervis, Patrick Wisdom — to record three outs in the eighth inning. Chicago starter Ben Brown (0-1) allowed three runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

DODGERS 4, BLUE JAYS 2 >> Tyler Glasnow pitched six solid innings for his first victory in 10 career starts against Toronto, Mookie Betts had three hits and an RBI, and visiting Los Angeles extended its winning streak to a seasonbest six games.

Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, and Chris Taylor each drove in a run for the Dodgers.

Betts tripled and scored in the first inning, singled home a run in the fourth and singled in the ninth.

Glasnow (5-1) allowed one run and two hits, walked three and struck out nine. Toronto has lost a season-high five straight. Glasnow came in 0-4 with a 6.86 ERA in nine starts against Toronto, all with Tampa Bay.

CARDINALS 7, METS 4 >> Sonny Gray extended his terrific start with St. Louis, Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-run double and the Cardinals won at New York.

With the bases loaded in the ninth inning, Ryan Helsley retired Francisco Lindor on a popup for the final out. Lindor struck out his previous four times up.

Nolan Arenado and Masyn Winn each had an RBI single during a four-run first against struggling Mets newcomer Adrian Houser.

Pete Alonso hit his 200th home run for the Mets.

Gray (3-1) gave up one earned run and four hits over six innings. He struck out nine and has a 1.16 ERA in four starts for the Cardinals after beginning the season on the injured list with a right hamstring strain.

REDS 8, RANGERS 4 >> Right-hander Hunter Greene held Texas to one hit over seven scoreless innings and Jonathan India homered while driving in four runs on a four-hit day as visiting Cincinnati beat the reigning World Series champion.

Greene (1-2) struck out six and walked one. Josh Smith had the only hit off Greene when he pulled a double into the right-field corner to open the fifth.

Will Benson also had a two-run homer for the Reds, who have won six of their last nine games.
