The sixth annual Saline County Tractor and Car Show is scheduled from 8 a.m. to

4 p.m. May 25, at New Life Baptist Church, located at 10765 Samples Rd. in Alexander.

There is no cost for show entries and admission is free for patrons as well.

“We have it for fellowship and a good time,” said organizer Jim Barber. “Bring any tractor or car you want.”

Concessions will be for sale to benefit Brazil Mission.

“They will serve fantastic burgers and food,” Barber said.

The event will feature a slow tractor race, tractor games — such as a barrel roll — live music from local musicians and a parade.

Barber said the church has 17 acres of space to use for parking cars and tractors for the show.

There will be trophies and prizes awarded for categories such as best in show and furthest traveled.

Each year there are typically a wide variety of tractors and antique and modern cars.

“We have beautiful tractors and a lot of the old ‘poppin’ johnnies,’” Barber said.

He added people come from Beebe, Arkadelphia, Dumas and Nashville for this show each year. He also hopes to see many locals at the show.

Barber plans to have a Thomas The Train for children at the event.

He wants children and adults to know they are welcome to attend.

The sponsors for the event are Down Home Restaurant, River Valley Tractor, Quality Auto Parts, Superior Trophies and Everett Buick GMC.

“This is a strict promotion and fellowship for antique tractors and antique cars,” Barber said.
