Henrietta S. Smoke Winchel
Henrietta S. Smoke Winchel, most knew her as “Henri” or “Meme,” 70, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 3, surrounded by her loved ones at her residence in Glen Rose. She was born Dec. 22, 1948, in Magnet Cove, to the late Johnny and Ruby Mcdougal Smoke.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis Golden; and a sister, Oweta Rubly Primm.
She is survived by her husband and love of her life of 45 years, Russell Winchel,; three children, Chris and Jessi Winchel, and Misty Winchel White; four beloved grandchildre,n Karlee and Karson White, Dustin Green and Brianna Olvera Griffin; and many other family members and friends that she called her very own.
She graduated from Magnet Cove High School in 1966 and was a faithful child of God and member of Glen Rose Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother “Meme,” and compassionate caretaker of many. She lived up to the meaning of her name as she was a vibrant and creative soul with a powerful personality always going out of her way to help and care for others, the ruler of her household and the keeper of many hearts.
With a heart of pure gold and warmth, she was the true reflection of God’s nurturing and unconditional love. Many family and friends reaped the benefits of her labor of love as she cared for all, spoke words of consolation to those who were heartbroken and poured out her unconditional love from the heart that never gave up on anyone (Matthew 23:37).
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May
