For­mer Hor­net Steen inks with Linx

HOT SPRINGS – For­mer Bryant Hor­net and now for­mer Na­tional Park College Nighthawk sopho­more Bray­lon Steen signed with a four-year college to con­tinue his ath­letic ca­reer at the next level this past Friday.

Steen com­mit­ted to South­west­ern College—a Di­vi­sion II NAIA school in Win­field, Kansas. The guard av­er­aged 11.6 points per game for the Nighthawks last sea­son, while also lead­ing the team in blocks (0.7 per game), steals (1.3 per game) and re­bounds (9.8 per game). Steen, an NJCAA All-re­gion Sec­ond Team hon­oree, joins a Linx squad that fin­ished

28-5 last sea­son with a sec­on­dround ap­pear­ance in the NAIA Di­vi­sion II Men’s bas­ket­ball tour­na­ment. Steen was a mem­ber of the in­au­gu­ral Nighthawks bas­ket­ball team and leaves be­hind a legacy of suc­cess in es­tab­lish­ing college bas­ket­ball in Hot Springs.
