Arrita Buie Sadler, 95, of Bauxite, passed away Friday, June 14. She was born Jan. 8, 1924, in Grant County. Arrita was an active member of West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church, where she was known as “The Gum Lady.”

She was proceeded in death by parents Hardin and Birdie Buie; her husband, Huey L. Sadler; a daughter, Diana

Sutton; a grandson, Jason Henthorne; two great-grandsons, Aaron Masingale and Adam Brewer; three brothers; two sisters; and a son-in-law, Jerrel Bruce.

She is survived by four daughters and their husbands, Rita (Harold) Mann, Wanda (Terry)

Teague; nine grandchild­ren, Cheryl (Mark)

Bella, Sawyer, Jocelyn, Jacey, Payton, Kaitlyn, Anna Bell, Addy, Layne, AJ and Gabriel; a sister, Martha Earnest; a sister-in-law, Shirley Whatley; a brother-in-law, David Chamblee; and many nieces, nephews and her church family whom she loved very much.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today, June 17, at Ashby Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held at noon Tuesday, June 18, at West Bauxite Missionary Baptist Church.
