Chamber tells plans for window decorating contest
In celebration of Independence Day, the Greater Bryant Chamber of Commerce is holding a window decorating contest.
Anna Brimhall, special events coordinator, said all can participate in the contest, including nonchamber members.
The Chamber wants to see businesses in and around Saline County decorate their windows in patriotic themes for the holiday. Brimhall said decorations may include red, white and blue, fireworks images and anything traditionally associated with the holiday.
Brimhall and Dana Poindexter, assistant to Bryant Mayor Allen Scott, came up with the idea when they were planning the recent Picnic at the Port.
Any business that wants to participate needs to contact Brimhall at the Chamber to have their business name and address added to the list for the judges.
Three judges will look at the windows and pick a winner July 2.
The winning business will win 30 days of digital billboard advertising with Ashby St. Outdoors. Brimhall said the prize should really make an impact for the winner.
Brimhall encourages businesses to start planning their displays for the contest now.
She feels that the contest will be great for the community and a fun way to celebrate.
She hopes that the windows will receive the attention of passersby so they stop and check out businesses.
This will be the first time for the contest, but Brimhall hopes it really takes off and businesses want to participate again. If it does well, the Chamber may add decorating contests for other holidays.
