Carl Thomas ‘Tommy’ Young

Carl Thomas “Tommy” Young, 72, of Ben­ton, passed away peace­fully Mon­day, June 24. He was born Oct. 30, 1946, to Thomas Howard and El­iz­a­beth Wil­son Young.

Tommy was a very happy and giv­ing man. He never met a stranger. He en­joyed eat­ing, fish­ing, camp­ing trips and was an avid shop­per. He was a won­der­ful and lov­ing friend to many and his mem­ory will be cher­ished and his le­gacy will con­tinue on through those who loved and cared for him.

He was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; and his wife whom he adored with all his heart, Bon­nie Carol Whit­ley Young.

Tommy is sur­vived by two aunts, Bar­bara Hill and Shirley Paul, both of Sparta, Ten­nessee; two very spe­cial friends, Gary and Kathy Baker; six “adopted” grand­kids; a nephew, Gary Whit­ley; a niece, Carla Gre­bert; and many other friends and those he called his fam­ily.

Fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs­day, June 27, at the chapel of Roller-bal­lard Fu­neral Home, lo­cated at 306 S. Main St. in Down­town Ben­ton. Bro. Kim Ham­mer will be of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 9:30 a.m. un­til ser­vice time. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Mt. Har­mony Ceme­tery in Haskell.
