Pan­thers take 5th at North Hills

SHERWOOD — On a hot 97-de­gree day with the heat in­dex well into the 100’s, the Ben­ton Pan­thers trav­eled to The Greens at North Hills in Sherwood for nine holes on Mon­day.

The Pan­thers would fin­ish fifth on the day with 174 points, while Cabot took the top spot with a score of 153. Catholic (157), North Lit­tle Rock (158) and Conway (163) rounded out the top four. The Bryant Hor­nets with­drew from the com­pe­ti­tion.

For Ben­ton, se­nior Corbin Beard had the low score, com­ing in with a 38. Se­nior Ethan Bear­den had a 43, se­nior Grant Berry at 45 and se­nior Max Bell fin­ished with a 48.

Ben­ton’s lone Lady Pan­ther, ju­nior Gianna Miceli, scored a 54.

The Ben­ton and Bryant ju­nior var­sity teams will com­pete on Thurs­day at Longhills Golf Club in Ben­ton at 4 p.m.
