Bryant ju­nior girls tops in NLR

NORTH LIT­TLE ROCK – Just like the Bryant varsity boys and ju­nior high boys, the Bryant Jr. Lady Hor­nets would take the top spot in the Arkansas Na­tional Guard - Be Your Best - XC Meet this past Satur­day at Camp Robin­son in North Lit­tle Rock.

The Jr. Lady Hor­nets dom­i­nated on Satur­day, tak­ing the meet ti­tle with 32 points, while Pu­laski Academy was run­ner-up with 74 points, 42 points off of Bryant’s pace. North Lit­tle Rock (118) took third, He­ber Springs (125) fourth and Hard­ing Academy (144) took fifth, while the Ben­ton Ju­nior High girls fin­ished 11th with 306 points.

For Bryant, Ada­lynn Mel­lon was the top Jr. Lady Hor­net fin­isher, tak­ing third over­all in a time of 14:17.20 for the 2-mile race.

Bryant put four more in the top 10 with Ai­dan Fisher fin­ish­ing fifth in 14:24.60, Mariel Ocana sixth in 14:27.90, Mad­die Nel­son eighth in 14:36.80 and Paige Spicer was 10th in 14:41.80.

The Jr. Lady Hor­nets put five more in the top 20 (10 over­all) with Grace Taylor (14:53.20) 13th, Ash­leigh Byles (15:00.30) 14th, Kaitlin Phillips (15:05.90) 17th, Gra­cie Rocha (15:08.20) 18th and Perla Li­mon (15:14.00) 19th.

For the Ben­ton girls,

Anna Claire Mitchell led the Jr. Lady Pan­thers with a 70th-place fin­ish in 17:26.90.

The Ben­ton ju­nior boys had a solid fin­ish at the meet, tak­ing fourth over­all with 103 points.

Ben­ton fresh­man Ben Wat­son led the Jr. Pan­thers with a sixth-place fin­ish in a time of 12:20.50. Ben­ton eighth-grader Jor­dan Ash­ley (19th - 13:05.80) and Will Tu­dor (21st - 13:11.40) both ran well. Eighth-grader Chris­tian Street also took 30th in 13:28.90.
