Marty Eu­gene Polk, of Sheri­dan, was born March 17,

1962 in Marvell, the son of Vivian Anne Whit­son Polk and the late Bobby Lee Polk. To say that Marty loved life was a huge un­der­state­ment. He lived ev­ery mo­ment of his 57 years to the fullest with his “Live Well, Laugh Of­ten, Love Much” per­son­al­ity. He was a mem­ber of First Bap­tist Church of Sheri­dan and was the road su­per­in­ten­dent for Saline County. Among his many in­ter­ests, mu­sic and sports topped the list. He had played bass in church and also for­merly with the Adrian Liv­ingston Band, and was cur­rently “lead” bass player with Exit 123. He be­longed to Arkansas High School Fast Pitch As­so­ci­a­tion, Arkansas Of­fi­cials As­so­ci­a­tion, for of­fi­ci­at­ing foot­ball and soft­ball. He leaves a rich legacy of good mem­o­ries, of a great man.

Marty died Fri­day, Sept. 27, at his home, sur­rounded by his loved ones, at the age of 57.

He is sur­vived by his wife, and best friend, Brid­get Holi­man Polk, of Sheri­dan; his mother, Anne Polk, of Gainesvill­e, Alabama; two daugh­ters, Holly (Chris) Sory, of Bryant, and Me­gan Polk, of North Lit­tle Rock; a step­daugh­ter, Jay­lynn (Blake) Hut­son, of Haskell; a step­son, Drew (Cait­lynn) Chit­wood, of Clear­wa­ter, Florida; two broth­ers, Bill Polk, of Green For­est, and Vince Polk, of Gainesvill­e, Alabama; eight grand­chil­dren, Is­abel, Bar­rett, Cora, Jasper, Mur­ray, Wit­ten, Blake­lynn and Cooper; his mother-in-law, Edith Holi­man, of Ben­ton; and a num­ber of other fam­ily mem­bers and count­less num­bers of friends.

Pall­bear­ers are Chris Sory, David Grappe, Doug West, Benny “BW” Higgs, Jeff Stroud, Brett Koder, Gene Boser, Bobby Craf­ford, Jerry Berry and Blake Hut­son.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 11:30 a.m. to­day, Oct.

1, at First Bap­tist Church of Sheri­dan, with Bro. Michael Daugherty of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Com­mit­tal ser­vice will be held at 3 p.m. at For­est Hills Ceme­tery, in Alexan­der.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. to­day, prior to the ser­vice.

Ar­range­ments are en­trusted to Me­mo­rial Gar­dens Fu­neral Home of Sheri­dan.
