Otis Bertrum Knox Jr., 91, of Ma­bel­vale, went to be with his Lord and Sav­ior on Nov. 23. He was born March 26, 1928, in East­land, Texas, the son of Otis Bertrum Knox Sr. and Katie Chloe Arnold Knox.

He was a mem­ber and dea­con of Life­line Bap­tist Church. At the age of 16, he en­listed in the U.S. Army to fight in World War II. He con­tin­ued his ser­vice in the Army in Korea and U.S. Air Force in Viet­nam. He re­tired from the Air Na­tional Guard as a SMSGT. He was an alumni of Texas A&M and was a civil engi­neer.

Pre­ceded in death by his wife, Juanita Doyz Knox; and a sis­ter, Martin Jean Morton, he is sur­vived by a son, James Knox (Holly), of Mayflower; a daugh­ter, Sarah Cle­ment (Jeff), of Ben­ton; six grand­chil­dren; and 13 great-grand­chil­dren with an­other to ar­rive in Fe­bru­ary.

He will be re­mem­bered for his in­tel­li­gence, work ethic, kind­ness and dry sense of hu­mor.

In lieu of flow­ers, do­na­tions can be sent to any lo­cal hu­mane so­ci­ety.

Grave­side ser­vice with full Mil­i­tary Hon­ors will be held at noon, Wed­nes­day, Nov. 27, at Roselawn Me­mo­rial Park, Asher and Woodrow, in Lit­tle Rock, with the Rev. Jeff Dial of­fi­ci­at­ing.
