Jr. Lady Pan­thers still per­fect

BEN­TON – The Ben­ton Jr. Lady Pan­thers ninth­grade team moved their sea­son record to 5-0 af­ter de­feat­ing North Lit­tle Rock 46-34 in Cen­tral Arkansas Ju­nior High Con­fer­ence ac­tion Mon­day at Ben­ton Arena.

Ben­ton led 13-10 af­ter one quar­ter, up­ping that lead to 23-13 at the half. NLR fought back to make it a 7-point game, 32-25, af­ter three, but the Jr. Lady Pan­thers turned it on in the fourth to make it a 12-point vic­tory.

“We were able to lead most of the game and an­swered ev­ery run they made at us,” Ben­ton Coach Kelly Scott said.

It was a bal­anced scor­ing at­tack for the Jr. Lady Pan­thers as Madi­son Mcin­tire led the way with 12 points, Alyssa Hous­ton had 11 and Wesleigh Fer­gu­son had 10. Press­ley Chism added five points in the win.

The Ben­ton eighth-graders also picked up a close win, down­ing NLR Gold 22-20.

“Af­ter dig­ging into a hole,

down 10-6 at the half, we ral­lied in the sec­ond half to win a hard-fought game,” Scott said.

Kelsey Greer scored 11, with Lariah Hawkins and Brynn Bar­ba­ree each adding four.

Ben­ton will travel to Lake Hamil­ton today to con­tin­ues CAJHC play with the eighth­graders be­gin­ning at 5 p.m.
