Ben­ton bowl­ing vic­to­ri­ous to start year

LIT­TLE ROCK – The Ben­ton bowl­ing team came away with a win over the Parkview Pa­tri­ots this past Mon­day at Pro­fes­sor Bowl West in Lit­tle Rock to open the sea­son.

The Ben­ton girls swept the Lady Pa­tri­ots, knock­ing down 1,543 to­tal pins to Parkview’s 1,060. Ben­ton won the first game 652-452 and the sec­ond 697-452, while also win­ning both Baker games, when five bowlers al­ter­nate frames, 103-67 and 91-89 for the sweep.

Sophia Mead­ows led the way for the Lady Pan­thers with a two-game se­ries of 296 (145, 151), while Abby Hardis­ter was sec­ond with a 280 (151, 129). Erica Martin (208 - 102, 106), Alex Shep­herd (200 - 74, 126), Abby Wil­son (184 - 89, 95) and Sa­vanna Gip­son (181 91, 90) fol­lowed.

The Ben­ton boys would also win to­tal pins 1,7491,724 de­spite los­ing both Baker games and the first reg­u­lar game 754-732, but came back to claim the sec­ond game 784-714 for a to­tal reg­u­lar pin­fall of 1,516 to 1,468.

Alex Roberts led the Pan­thers with a 406 twogame se­ries, go­ing over 200 (204, 202) in both games. Carter Robinson came away with a 325 (127, 198), while Jake Reith (220 - 108, 112), Gage Qu­atel­baum (197 - 108, 89) and Raider Gip­son (195 107, 88) fol­lowed.

Ben­ton is back in ac­tion Mon­day host­ing Lake Hamil­ton at Pro­fes­sor Bowl in Lit­tle Rock.
