PEARCY – It wasn’t easy, but the Benton Jr. Lady Panthers moved to a perfect 6-0 on the season, coming away with a 25-24 win over Lake Hamilton in Central Arkansas Junior High Conference action on the road Thursday in Pearcy.

“We moved to 6-0 with a defensive struggle at Lake Hamilton,” Benton Coach Kelly Scott said. “The game was really slowed down by Lake Hamilton as they had a good plan and executed it well. We struggled to turn them over with our defense and had trouble scoring as well in the half court.”

That slow pace was evident from the start as Benton held a 4-3 lead after one quarter and held just an 11-9 advantage at the half, but the third quarter was a different story for the Jr. Lady Panthers.

“The third quarter

belonged to Lake Hamilton as they outscored us 7-2 to lead 16-13 after three,”
