Car­di­nals cut down Lady Hornets

FAYETTEVIL­LE — Down­ing the Hot Springs Lady Tro­jans 33-32 Fri­day at Fayettevil­le High School with­out out their top three scor­ers in sopho­more Par­ris Atkins, and se­niors Tierra Trot­ter and Mcken­zie Muse, the Bryant Lady Hornets couldn’t du­pli­cate the feat on Satur­day fac­ing Farm­ing­ton in Fayettevil­le.

The Farm­ing­ton Lady Car­di­nals (11-1) would down the Lady Hornets (5-3) 62-38 as Farm­ing­ton led Bryant 13-7 af­ter one quar­ter of play and held a 26-17 half­time ad­van­tage. The Car­di­nals pulled away in the third quar­ter, lead­ing 44-27 go­ing into the fi­nal quar­ter be­fore tak­ing the 24-point win.

Se­nior Lexie Tay­lor led the way for the Lady Hornets, hit­ting four 3-point­ers and scor­ing 15 points, while se­nior In­dia Atkins fol­lowed with 11 points. Se­nior for­ward Ce­lena Martin fin­ished six points and a teamhigh 10 re­bounds.

Bryant is back in ac­tion af­ter Christ­mas, com­pet­ing in the Beebe Hol­i­day Tour­na­ment on Fri­day,

Dec. 27, in Beebe. The Lady Hornets face the Mcclel­lan Lady Lions at 10 a.m. at Beebe High School.
