JIMMY W. HARRIS
Surrounded by family and loved ones, Jimmy W. Harris, 65, of El Dorado, went on to greet his angels in waiting. He joined the firmaments of Heaven in the early morning hours of Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014.
Jim was born on July 23, 1948, in Jena, La., to Earl W. and Margie “Te n a ” Harris. He attended Norphlet H igh School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Norphlet.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Earl W. and Tena Harris; his sister, Barbara Stamper; his wife, Jackie Harris; his daughter, Lacey Welch; and his granddaughter, Lexi Welch.
He is survived by one son, Jonathan Harris, of El Dorado; four daughters, Stacy Jerry (Chuck), of Norphlet, Jennifer Scritchfield (Scott), of Cabot, Heather Harris, of El Dorado, and Shelby Anderson, of Hampton; and one brother, Tim Harris (Patti), of Hot Springs. He had eight grandchildren, Craig Chadwick, of El Dorado, Sydney Chadwick and Kaleigh Jerry, of Norphlet, Aiden May, of El Dorado, Austin Scritchfield, of Cabot, Trent Welch, of Hampton, Angel Smith (Steven), of El Dorado, Kimber Jerry, of El Dorado; and one greatgrandchild, Cooper Smith of El Dorado. He is also survived by many close friends.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in El Dorado. Memorial services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Norphlet, with Bro. John Norvell and Bro. Doug Wills officiating.
Cremation services were provided by Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
The family will be at 601 W. Padgett, Norphlet.
