Parkers Chapel will host football camp

Parkers Chapel will present a youth football camp from July 22-23 from 9 a.m. to noon each day.

The camp is for students that have just completed the first through sixth grades, and daily check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.

The camp will be held at the Parkers Chapel High School Football Complex (fields are located off of Haynesvill­e Highway 15 across from Dixie Mart. In the case of rain, camp will be in the MAC.)

The cost is $25 with checks made payable to PC Activity. Forms are availableo­nline at www.parkerscha­pelschool.com

Athletic physicals in Strong are scheduled

STRONG - Strong will offer physicals for high school athletes at the Strong Clinic for boys on July 22 and for girls on July 29.

Male athletes entering grades 7-9 will have physicals on July 22 at 8 a.m.

Senior high male athletes will have physicals the same day at 1 p.m. Female athletes entering grades 7-9 will have physicals on July 29 at 8 a.m. Senior high female athletes will have physicals the same day at 1 p.m.

Cheerleade­rs are also expected to take the physical.

The physicals will be given at the Strong Clinic.

Hunter education class begins August 5

To receive a hunter education card in Arkansas any person born after January 1, 1969 must attend a certified hunter education class.

There will be a hunter education class on August 5, 7, 12 and 14 at the Center for Workforce Developmen­t, Room 121, 3698 East Main in El Dorado.

Anyone that would like to enroll in the class should call Tara at 870-864-7192.

The class will be given from 6-9 p.m. each night and all four classes must be attended to get credit for the class. The class will be presented by certified.

Pruet Tournament to be held August 8-9th

The 14th Annual BancorpSou­th - Chesley Pruet Memorial Benefit Golf Tournament will be held August 8th and 9th at the El Dorado Golf & Country Club and the Lion's Club Municipal Golf Course.

The Junior Golf Tournament will be held Friday, August 8th at the Lion’s Club Municipal Golf Course and the four person scramble tournament, with a junior on each team, will have a shotgun start Saturday, August 9th and will be held at the El Dorado Golf and Country Club.

The tournament is limited to the first 20 teams that sign-up. Entry fees are $400 per Team – 8:00 a.m. There will be a shotgun start. Fees will pay for lunch, carts, golf, and prizes.
