El Dorado football booster club will meet

The El Dorado Wildcat Football Booster Club will meet tonight in the El Dorado High School Commons at 7:30.

The meeting will be immediatel­y following the EHS Open House. EHS volleyball team to present blood drive

El Dorado High School’s volleyball team is hosting a blood drive and fundraiser on Saturday, August 23 at Brookshire’s, 2202 N West Ave from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The volleyball team will be selling team t-shirts for $15 and chances to win a $100 gas card for $1 each to raise funds for the team.

Each person donating blood will receive a free “Get in the Game” t-shirt and a $5 off coupon to Outback Steakhouse.

Reddie Golf Classic to be held August 29th

Henderson State University's second annual Reddie Golf Classic will be held Friday, Aug. 29 at the El Dorado Golf & Country Club.

Proceeds benefit the Henderson state men's basketball scholarshi­p fund.

Entry fee is $100 per person or $400 per team.

Hunter education course begins Sept. 2

Anyone born after December 31, 1968 must have a valid hunter educa tion card to be able to hunt in Arkansas.

Certified volunteer south Arkansas hunter education instructor­s are offering a class at the South Arkansas Community College on September 2, 4, 9 and 11.

The class will be taught in the auditorium located next to the library on the West campus (also next to Brookshire’s on S. West Ave).

Classes begin at 6 p.m. and are usually completed around 9 p.m. You must attend all four classes and successful­ly pass the hunter education test to receive credit for the class.

If successful, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will mail you a hunter education card. There is no charge for the class.
