‘Price is Right’ contestants make history with 3-way tie

LOS ANGELES (AP) — "Price is Right" history was made on Monday's episode when a trio of contestants spun different combinations of $1 on the game show's colorful wheel.

The three contestants each landed on spaces adding up to $1 in a pair of spins during one of the show's showcase showdowns.

The game show famously awards contestants who earn $1 on the wheel without going over a $1,000 prize and a chance to spin again.

"The Price is Right" host Drew Carey pumped his fist in the air after the contestants achieved the first three-way $1 tie with different combinations in the show's history . In past instances of such a tie, at least one of the contestants landed exactly on the wheel's coveted $1 space.

The three contestants celebrated in Monday's episode by jumping up and down while embracing in a group hug.

The long-running CBS game show is airing its 45th season.

Emma Stone, Jane Curtin join Bill Murray tribute in DC

WASHINGTON (AP) — Emma Stone and Jane Curtin are late additions to the lineup of performers who'll celebrate Bill Murray when he receives the nation's top prize for humor.

The Kennedy Center announced Tuesday that Stone and Curtin will take the stage in honor of Murray on Sunday night. Murray is this year's recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Curtin performed alongside Murray on "Saturday Night Live." Stone co-starred with him in the little-seen movie "Aloha."

Also new to the lineup are musician Rhiannon Giddens and Ivan Reitman, who directed Murray in "Ghostbusters." Murray's co-star in that movie, Dan Aykroyd, has dropped out of the event. The Kennedy Center says he has a scheduling conflict.

Previously announced performers include David Letterman, Sigourney Weaver and Aziz Ansari.

Chuck Berry to release first new album in more than 35 years

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Ninety-year-old rock 'n' roll legend Chuck Berry is set to release his first new studio album in more than 35 years.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Berry's album, titled "Chuck," will be available in 2017.

The album was recorded in St. Louis-area studios and will feature mostly original work by Berry, who turned 90 on Tuesday. He is the sole producer on the album.

Jimmy Marsala, a bassist in Berry's longtime band, suggests the new album took so long to come together because Berry wanted to make sure it lived up to everyone's expectations. His last studio album was "Rock It" in 1979.

Marsala said Berry — whose writing credits include "Roll Over Beethoven," and "Johnny B. Goode" — started working on the new album as soon as "Rock It" was completed.

"He was constantly working on stuff all the time, on airplanes, writing lyrics down, always coming up with new ideas — 'Let's try this, let's try that,'" Marsala said.

Spokesman Joe Edwards says the new album is a gift to his fans. Berry's son, Charles Berry Jr., says the songs "cover the spectrum from hard-driving rockers to soulful, thought-provoking time capsules of a life's work."

According to Edwards, Berry is likely retired from touring, but anything can happen.

Berry played his 200th concert at a St. Louis restaurant and music club called The Duck Room in 2014 before pulling back from touring.

Adaptation of Stephen King novel filming in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) — A movie producer has confirmed that a film adaptation of a Stephen King novel is being filmed primarily in downtown Mobile.

Executive Producer D. Scott Lumpkin tells Al.com that 90 percent of the filming of "Gerald's Game" will be shot in downtown Mobile.

"Gerald's Game" is based on the 1992 novel of the same name. It is about a couple whose vacation turns into a nightmare after the titular character dies at the hands of his wife, who is tied to a bed and unable to help him.

Filming began last week and is expected to continue through mid-November.

The film is expected to forego a release in theaters and instead debut as a Netflix Original. It will star Bruce Greenwood and Carla Gugino.

Michael Jordan’s ‘Space Jam’ returning to theaters

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michael Jordan, Bugs Bunny and friends are returning to the court, and theaters, to mark the 20th anniversary of "Space Jam."

The 1996 basketball-themed adventure, which combined the real life Jordan with animated Looney Tunes characters, will be back on screens in select theaters for two days next month. Fathom Events and Warner Bros. say the screenings will take place on Sunday, Nov. 13, and Wednesday, Nov. 16.

Basketball greats Larry Bird, Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing also appear in the film, as does Bill Murray, who joins with Jordan to defeat a team of aliens.
