El Dorado, Smackover record softball victories

EL DORADO - Grace Hargett struck out 10 en route to a five-hitter, as El Dorado opened their season with a 5-2 win over Crossett on Thursday.
The two runs Hargett allowed were unearned, and she walked six.
Offensively, Kelsey Howard went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI for El Dorado.
Tristen Lewis and Payton Scarlett were each 2-for-3 with a run scored for the Lady Wildcats.
Taylor Mayo, Marissa Rice and Allyson Silmon each had one hit in the win.
Mayo and Silmon each had a double and an RBI, and the former also scored a run.
Today, El Dorado will host the Lady Cat Classic.
The Lady Wildcats will open play by taking on Junction City at 4:30 p.m.
Parkers Chapel will take on Hamburg at 4:30 p.m. in their tourney opener, while Smackover will square off with Hampton at 6 p.m. Smackover 17,
Warren 2 SMACKOVER - The Lady Bucks (1-1, 1-0) cruised in their Class
3A-4A District 12 opener.
Alexis Cook paced Smackover's offense by going 3-for-3 with three RBIs, while Lexi Gilbert went 2-for-3 with a double and four RBIs and Tessa Watson was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
Karli Goocher also had a solid day at the plate by going 2-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs and two stolen bases.
Heather Haltom was 2-for-3 with two RBIs to round out Smackover's attack.
Ashley Haynes was the winning pitcher after tossing a five-hitter.
She issued no walks, struck out 10 and both runs she allowed were unearned.
