Ouachita Baptist swept by Arkansas Tech

-

ARKADELPHIA - Ouachita Baptist (5-13, 3-6 GAC) lost both games of a doubleheader Saturday against the Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys (12-6, 9-0 GAC) by scores of 17-1 and 3-2.

Abe Young was the starting pitcher for the Tigers in the first game of the doubleheader and struck out five batters despite being awarded the loss.

Adam Bahloul started the second game for the Tigers and performed well, only allowing three runs and striking out two batters.

Senior shortstop Justin Weigle hit a home run for the Tigers and picked up two RBIs on the day.

The first game of the day was dominated by Tech and ended in the seventh inning due to the run rule being enforced.

Tech opened the game with two unearned runs in the first inning, but the Tigers responded through an Austin White RBI single in the bottom of the inning.

That would be the only sliver of hope for the Tigers however, as Arkansas Tech piled onto their lead for the remainder of the game.

The second game was a much closer affair.

Bahoul started the game for the Tigers and held the Wonder Boys to three runs through six innings of play.

Weigle homered in the bottom of the six inning to drive in two runs and close the score, but the Tigers were unable to pull out a win in the seventh inning.
