EL DORADO - Allyson Silmon jacked a tworun home run Tuesday as El Dorado held off Texarkana 12-8 in a wild 6A-West softball matchup at the El Dorado Recreation Complex. The Lady Wildcats improved to 8-6 overall and 3-1 in league play.

El Dorado had 11 hits in the game, which saw 18 runs scored in the first four innings.

Silmon was 3-for4 with a homer, triple and three RBI. Payton Scarlett was 2-for-4 with four RBI.

After the Lady Backs scored three in the first, El Dorado answered in the bottom of the first with three, including a two-run triple by Scarlett. Silmon's tworun homer in the third gave the Lady Wildcats a 5-3 lead.

Each team scored five in the fourth. Taylor Mayo singled for El Dorado and Grace Hargett walked. Laraan Simmons dropped a bunt and reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases. Tristen Lewis walked in a run and Marissa Rice plated another with a fielder's choice. Scarlett added a two-run single.

In the fifth, Mayo doubled and scored when Simmons doubled off the wall. Silmon also singled in a run.

Hargett went the distance in the circle,

allowing eight runs on nine hits, although just two were earned. Hargett struck out 11 batters while walking none while hitting three.

El Dorado travels to Norphlet on Thursday to take on Smackover.

Smackover 9, Hamburg 3

HAMBURG - Smackover pounded Hamburg 9-3 in 3A-8 softball action on Tuesday. The Lady Bucks improved to 19-2 overall and 7-0 in conference.

Smackover scored a run in the second when Abby Crawford was hit by a pitch, moved to third on Lydia Pullin’s single and scored on a single by Sabrina Estridge.

The Lady Lions pushed across three in the bottom of the second but Smackover got back in the third with a twoout rally. Reagan Richardson singled and Heather Haltom walked before Crawford and Lexi Gilbert stroked RBI singles.

In the fifth, Richardson walked, stole second and scored on Crawford’s fielder’s choice. Gilbert doubled in the sixth and scored on a two-run double by Mikayla Burroughs.

Gilbert was 3-for-4 with Crawford and Tessa Watson adding two hits apiece for the Lady Bucks, who had 12 hits in the game.

Ashley Haynes was the winning pitcher. She gave up three runs but just one earned with three walks, six hits and three strikeouts.

Smackover won the JV game 4-0. Kailey Stogsdill hit a two-run double off the fence. Mallory Brewer and Alexis Cook also doubled in the game.

The Lady Bucks host El Dorado Thursday in Norphlet.
