Festivals and Events lands point-of-sale solution

EL DORADO — El Dorado Festivals & Events, Inc., the entity organizing the Murphy Arts District in El Dorado, recently announced that Advanced POS Solutions (APS), provider of NCR Aloha Point-of-Sale solutions and technology, will furnish an integrated point-of-sale solution to the district to enhance guest experience. With its outdoor amphitheat­er, full-service farm-to-table restaurant, concert hall, concession area and indoor theater, APS will provide the district a versatile POS solution that integrates the needs of all venues with one system.

“The Arts & Entertainm­ent District is a large-scale, complex event space spanning several blocks in downtown El Dorado, ” said Dan Smith, vice president of hospitalit­y and operations, El Dorado Festivals & Events, Inc.

“By teaming up with APS, we are confident that despite the complexiti­es this project brings, the NCR Aloha solutions APS is providing will provide our customers with the most advanced, efficient order and payment solutions on the market today. APS will provide multiple solutions to this project, including integrated mobile ordering devices called Orderman7 for the outdoor amphitheat­re,” he said.

“Purpose-built, reliable solutions that are analytical are what we are looking for. We are confident that the NCR/Aloha solutions that APS is incorporat­ing into this project are best-in-class for these needs,” said Smith. The NCR devices utilize a secure radio network, as well as a redundancy system for network outages, allowing for a quick and seamless purchasing experience for district patrons.

Located in El Dorado, the Murphy Arts District will contain six venues spread over three city blocks. The venues include a two-acre contempora­ry children’s Playscape, a 7,000 person outside amphitheat­er, a 2,000 seat music hall with a Broadway production capable-backstage, a 250 person cabaret/full service farm-to-table restaurant, an 8,000 square foot art gallery, a renovated 1920’s-era 850 seat theater with balcony and bar, along with two outside plazas.

The Playscape, free to the public, is one of the largest play areas for children in the state. There is also a 14-bay Farmer’s Market adjacent to the amphitheat­er.
