Reminder of Services

THELMA J. JOLLEY

Services for Thelma Jennings Jolley, 105, of El Dorado will be held at 2 p.m. today at Young’s with Bro. Benjy McCann and Bro. Brian Thomas officiatin­g. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time today at Young’s.

Burial will follow in Jolley Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

JULIUS G. CARELOCK

Julius G. “Papaw” Carelock, 79, of El Dorado died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

He was born Oct.

3, 1937 in Union County to William Buchanan Carelock and Alpha Leister Carelock. Before retiring, Julius worked as a postal clerk for 40 plus years. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church. Julius had a huge heart for all animals, especially his horse, Mitzi, and cat, Sam. He was a sports fan and an avid Razorback fan, and a West Side Warrior supporter.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Daniel “Bo” Carelock; and a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Carelock.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Carelock of El Dorado; a son, Russell “Rusty” Carelock of El Dorado; a daughter, Janice Murphy (Terry) of El Dorado; a sister, Rosie Warren of El Dorado; brothers, his twin, Jimmy Carelock (Madrey) of El Dorado, Orland Carelock (Lois) of Friendswoo­d, Texas, and Donald “Ralph” Carelock (Helena) of Santa Fe, Texas; and a granddaugh­ter, Mackenzie Murphy.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017 at West Side Baptist Church with Bro. Glenn Sparks officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

KENNETH E. CLAY SR.

Kenneth E. Clay Sr., 54, of El Dorado, departed this life on May 25, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, George Clay Sr.; sister, Linda Clay-Hollister; brother, George Clay Jr.; and step-mother, Rosie Lee Davis Clay. Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Kindra Clay, Ken Brianna (Tyrone) Floyd and Kenneth Clay Jr.; mother, Ophelia Clay; siblings, Danny Clay, David (Ester) Clay, Jeff (Charlotte) Clay, Charles Clay, Carlton Clay, Alvin Burnett, Joy (Katrina) Burnett, Rosie Terry, Carol Smith, Gloria (Mike) Coleman, Annie Burnett, and Margaret Payne; grandchild­ren, Kelsi Clay, Kaleb Floyd, Keltin Clay, and Kason Floyd; and a host of family and friends.

Family hour will be held from 5 until 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Ever Green Baptist Church, 1510 S. Jackson Ave., El Dorado.

A life celebratio­n will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at Greater Paradise Covenant Church, 3023 W. 12th St., Little Rock. Services are entrusted to Robinson Mortuary, 1201 Dr. MLK Jr. Drive, Little Rock, AR (501) 371-0111. “Service You Can Trust.”

PAMELA D. FAULKNER

Pamela Diane McCall Faulkner, 67, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born Aug. 5, 1949, to Leon and Pauline Mobley McCall in Monroe, Louisiana. She was a life-long member of Community Church of Christ Church, and she was faithful to her church and Lord. She worked as a beautician, and was a homemaker.

Preceding her in death were her parents; and brother, Michael Bruce McCall.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Mike Faulkner; two children, Joe Faulkner (Angel), and Tonya Clements; four grandchild­ren, Ashley Faulkner (Amanda), Johni Havard (Sam), Chloe’ Camp (Jordan), and Noah Faulkner; five great-grandchild­ren, and two more on the way; brother, C.E. McCall (Nelda); sister, Alice Parker (Jimmy); life-long friend and sister/sister-inlaw, Irma McCall; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her own children and grandchild­ren, Granny was “Granny” to a whole special group of people. As far as they knew it was the only name she had. It’s just who she was.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Young’s.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2017, at Parkers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors and with Elder C.E. McCall officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arkansas Kidney Disease Commission, P.O. Box 3781, Little Rock, AR 72203; or to the American Diabetes Associatio­n, 2451 Crystal Drive, Ste. 900, Arlington, VA 22202.

OSCAR M. HUDSON

Oscar M. “Bad Eye” Hudson, 85, of El Dorado, died May 30, 2017. He was born Jan. 31, 1932, to Byron and Ruth Good-heart Hudson in Banks. Bad Eye was retired from Union Local IBEW 436 and worked as a lineman electricia­n for Lawrence Electric and later for Enterprise Rental for 13 years as a driver. He loved to hunt, fish and was an avid motorcycle rider. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church. He was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Doug Hudson; brother, Gene Hudson; and grandson, Zachary Lloyd Hudson.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Glover Hudson; son, David R. Hudson; and grandchild­ren, Lindsey Hudson, Luke Hudson, and Ben McCue.

A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Young’s. Cremation arrangemen­ts were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis, TN 38105.
