Students accept SouthArk scholarships
EL DORADO — Several local student accepted scholarships funded by the SouthArk Foundation and the financial aid department to attend South Arkansas Community College in the fall.
Katelyn Abigayle Manning, a 2017 graduate of Strong High School, has accepted a Dr. Ben T. Whitfield Endowed Scholarship.
The daughter of Tonya Manning of Strong, in high school she was a member of Future Business Leaders of America, Student Government, SkillsUSA, the cheerleading squad, the yearbook staff and the National Society of High School Scholars. She also was a Girls State delegate and listed on the honor roll.
Ieshia Howard, a criminal justice major at SouthArk, has accepted an Omazel Lawson Endowed Scholarship. She is the daughter of Nelois Green and Bennie Howard of Strong and is a 2015 graduate of Strong High School.
Haylea Cater, a 2017 graduate of Junction City High School, has accepted a Jonathan M. Warren Memorial Scholarship. The daughter of Dana Cater of El Dorado was a member of the Student Council in high school.
Olivia Smith, a 2017 honor graduate of Parkers Chapel High School, has accepted an Albert W. Loftin Scholarship. In high school, the daughter of Billy and Leasha Smith of Strong was a member of Beta Club and the Art Club.
William Walter Clark Morgan, a 2017 graduate of Strong High School, has accepted a Shirley Jean Hicks Russell African American Family and Friends Day Memorial Scholarship. The son of Daphae Morgan of Strong, he was a member of the Young Democrats and the NAACP in high school.
Hayley Sampson, a 2017 graduate of Smackover High School, has accepted a Freshman Recognition Scholarship.
The daughter of Ben and Jennifer Malin of Mount Holly, in high school she was a member of the Student Council, French Club, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Science Club, French Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society and cross-country team, as well as Mu Alpha Theta and Literati. She also received an Award of Excellence from the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists.
Cecilia Ruiz, a practical nursing major at SouthArk, has accepted a Jonathan M. Warren Scholarship. The 2016 graduate of El Dorado High School is the daughter of Francisco Ruiz of El Dorado.
Lauren Clark, a nursing major at SouthArk, has accepted a Cornerstone General Endowed Scholarship. She is a 2016 general educational development graduate and the daughter of Jamie Jo and Matt Clark of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Michael Neal of Calion, a process technology major at SouthArk, has accepted an Island Memorial Scholarship. He is a 2011 graduate of Norphlet High School.
Skyler Kinley, a 2017 graduate of Smackover High School, has accepted an Albert W. Loftin Scholarship. In high school, the daughter of Michelle Kinley and Mikey Kinley of Camden was a member of the French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta and Ablaze Ministries. She also was Miss Derrick 2017.
Rena Faust, a 2017 graduate of Smackover High School, has accepted a Jonathan M. Warren Memorial Scholarship. Samantha Sadoh, an industrial technology: mechatronics major at South Arkansas Community College, has accepted an Island Memorial Scholarship. She is a 2016 graduate of El Dorado High School and the daughter of Jeraldean Jones.
Matthew Freeman, a nursing major at SouthArk, has accepted a Medical Center of South Arkansas-Betty White Endowed Scholarship. The 2016 graduate of Junction City High School is the son of Holly and James Freeman of Junction City.
Sara Primm of Norphlet, a registered nursing major at South Arkansas Community College, has accepted a Receiving Education Achievement Close to Home Scholarship. She is a 2011 graduate of Parkers Chapel High School.
Corey Womack, a 2017 graduate of Parkers Chapel High School, has accepted a Jonathan M. Warren Memorial Scholarship. He is the son of Shelley Womack of El Dorado. In high school he was a member of Beta Club.
Elichia English of Junction City, a radiologic technology major at SouthArk , has accepted a Lucy Ring Academic Excellence Endowed Scholarship. She is a member of Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities and is on the Dean’s List.
