Benefit planned for injured firefighter
Place: St. Paul United Methodist Church
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday More information: A benefit hamburger plate luncheon will be held for El Dorado Fire Department Lt. Trey Sewell, who was injured earlier this month in an automobile accident, to help defray medical expenses.
The lunch will include hamburgers, barbecue beans, chips and dessert for $8 a plate. To pre-register, call the church office at 862-4242 by noon on Friday. Orders of five or more will be delivered on request. St. Paul is located at the corner of College and Eighth Street and the fellowship hall will be open for those who wish to pick up their order or dine-in.

military

More information: Project SOUTH of El Dorado personnel are asking local residents to participate in the “Operation: I Care” campaign to provide care packages to send to local National Guard units stationed in Africa.
Some needed items include foot spray and powder, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel or body wash, nail clippers, toothpaste and brushes, deodorant, disposable razors, toilet paper, alcohol-free mouthwash, facial wipes and cleansers, non-aerosol shaving cream, dental floss, tissue, cotton swabs, facial tissue, socks, underwear, feminine hygiene products, boxed greeting cards, laundry powder, towels, mini-fans, non-aerosol bug spray, bandanas, crackers, pouched tuna, canned meat, canned ravioli, lip balm, acetaminophen, ibuprofen, aspirin, athlete’s foot cream, sunscreen, aloe vera, cough drops and eye drops.
