MILLIE J. HARRIS Visitation for Millie Jo Harris, 90, of Parkers Chapel, formerly of Hot Springs, will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home, at the Old Parkers Chapel Cemetery with Brother Jimmy Meek officiatin­g.

FLOSSIE L. JONES Funeral for Ms. Flossie Lee Jones, 70, of Strong, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at StrongHutt­ig Gymnasium in Strong, with the Rev. Aluster Hamilton officiatin­g. Interment will be held in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery.

A wake will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Curry Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Strong.

DANNY R. MAJOR Visitation for Danny Rollan Major will be at Istrouma Baptist Church, from 5 to 9 p.m. today; continued visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at noon on Friday officiated by Dr. Jeff Ginn, lead pastor, Istrouma Baptist Church.

Interment will be held at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home.

Obituaries

ROBERTA L. JONES Roberta L. Jones (Bobbie), 77, of Smackover, passed away Oct. 15, 2017, at Ouachita County Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 15, 1940 in Yonkers, New York to William Thompson and Frances Rebans.

She was a member of the Vera Olive Sunday School class at the First United Methodist Church in Smackover and active in their card ministry and after school program. She loved her church, family, Bible study group and her canine companions. Her final act of giving was to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Al Rebans; step-parents, Pauline and Ed Montgomery; brother, William Thompson Jr.; and sister, Sandy Braithwait­e.

Survivors include a daughter, Suzanne Jones (Jim) of El Dorado; son, Johnny D. Jones of Smackover; six grandchild­ren, Kyle Jones (Amanda) and Tyler Jones (Jessica) of Smackover, Savannah, Kylie and Fallon Jones of El Dorado, and Haley Bailey (Blake) of North Little Rock; 10 great-grandchild­ren; and a sister, Joanie Coe of Sharpsburg, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at First United Methodist Church in Smackover led by pastor O.D. Turner.

RICKY N. ROBERTS Ricky Nelson Roberts, 58, of Smackover, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at his residence.

He was born

Rock, to James Lonnie Roberts and Sara

Eunie Alphin Roberts. He worked at Welsco Inc. and afterward became the owner of Rick’s Floor Covering. He later drove for Ramsey Contractor­s and Lar Tex Services. Ricky was a member of Joyce City Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his brothers, Kenneth Roberts, Leroy Roberts, and James Worley; and his sisters, Francis Pamplin and Billie Ruth Strawn.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Roberts; daughters, Chelsie Scarberry (Brandon) of Sardis, Arkansas and Sara Word (Brint) of Lone Oak, Texas; grandchild­ren, Logan Word, Madison Word and Peyton Scarberry; brothers, Clarence Roberts (Helen) of Sardis, and Lester Roberts (Mollie) of Little Rock; sisters, Henrietta Casteltine (Leo) of Hamilton, Ohio, Jan Hunter (Robert) of Sardis, and Barbara Fisher (Thomas) of Lonsdale, Arkansas; and numerous other family and friends.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 in Young’s Chapel with the Rev. Jason Smith and Thomas Fisher officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Bernice Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
